Our August 16, 2005, meeting was held in Bloomington at Mayfield’s MCL Cafeteria.
Business Meeting    The business meeting was called to order by Southern Chapter President John Kennard (Brown County) at 9:00 AM.  At final count, 33 Chapter members were present.
Treasurer     Diane Knies (Dubois County) reported a balance of $657.02.
Executive Board    John Kennard, who represents our chapter at the Executive Board meeting, reported that the next meeting is Friday, August 19, in Indianapolis.
Food Protection   Pat Fowler (IU) is trying to get together an after-hours contact list and passed around a sheet for that information.
Waste Water    No report.
Vector Control    Vivie Dunn (ISDH) was quite excited to report that Vector Control now has a 2,400 square foot office in Indianapolis’s Shadeland Park, although any mosquitoes that are sent to the lab should still go to the Barnhill Drive address.  She also added that the lab will be checking specimens for St. Louis encephalitis and Eastern equine encephalitis, in addition to West Nile virus.
Old Business    Pat Fowler asked about the status of the Chapter business cards.  Graham McKeen (Brown County) designed some a few months ago, but due to uncertainty about future meeting dates, the cards were not printed.  Stay tuned – they will be coming.
A nomination from our Chapter has been made for Sanitarian Emeritus.  The award will be announced at the Fall Conference. 
The deadline for the Harry E. Werkowski Outstanding Chapter Award was missed – it was July 15.
